Overview

La campaña de Rusia, la lucha contra el comunismo soviético en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, es el único conflicto en el que la Legión Española no ha intervenido con unidades propias. En ese conflicto España participó militarmente a través de la División Azul, gran unidad organizada por el gobierno de Franco y que fue catalizada, a nivel político y propagandístico, por la Falange. Sin embargo, esa predominante identidad "azul" se fusionó con el espíritu del Ejército, y particularmente con el espíritu que emanaba de los más de 2000 legiona rios que formaron en sus filas. Este trabajo explora la notable contribución de la Legión Española en el proceso de creación de la División Azul en junio de 1941, y en el desarrollo exitoso de la campaña que continuó con la Legión Azul hasta abril de 1944. Por las páginas de este libro, ilustradas con múltiples imágenes inéditas, desfilan cente nares de jefes, oficiales, suboficiales y tropa procedentes de la Legión.
